Steven Bugge approaches architecture with an open mind and an emphasis on the unique spatial qualities that define the experience of each project. As a Project Designer at INTERSTICE Architects, Steven brings his considerable experience working on multifamily residential and mixed-use commercial development in the Bay Area. Interested in exploring current technologies in support of traditional methods of practice to discover and execute the best solution, he leverages any and all design opportunities. Steven’s collaborative experience with a diverse range of clients and project typologies drive his aspirations to craft exceptional spaces that focus on the intersection of materials, culture, context, materiality, and sustainability.
Steven was born and raised in Minnesota’s Twin Cities of Saint Paul and Minneapolis and earned his Bachelor of Environmental Design and Master of Architecture from North Dakota State University in Fargo. Since relocating to the Bay Area in 2014, he has enjoyed exploring California’s diverse landscape and cultural settings. Steven enjoys spending his free time and weekends with his wife and young daughter. He brings his Midwestern work ethic and open communication style to the benefit of every project.
